Winter means many things to many people. Shredding “gnar-gnar fluff-fluff” up on the ski hill … powering through HBO series to catch up with society … working your way through whatever goodies you canned back at harvest time … just to name a few. And that’s all fun and games. But when you’re into growing healthy and happy, winter pretty much means one thing:
GETTING READY FOR SPRING!
We’ve got piles of great stuff coming your way, in the forms of compost and information. So check this blog and our Facebook page often to stay posted!
Are you pumped for a great, green growing season? So are our good pals at the University of Nevada. We’ve been working with UNR for 5 years on a variety of large-scale green waste diversion, green waste recycling, and all-natural soil fertility projects. Here’s a look at how we’re getting them ready for a verdant, fruitful spring right now!
Biomass-ters Degree: UNR Green Waste Diversion in Reno
UNR is beautiful. But it doesn’t just #wokeuplikethis. It takes WORK to look this good! But that’s why we’re here.
Back on an ugly, nasty, rainy Saturday in January … the UNR maintenance crew and Full Circle were out there getting our University of Nevada Reno green waste recycling on! What, to the casual observer, might look like just a bunch of piles of past debris, looks to us like … well, still a bunch of piles … but of UNR’s green future!
We hauled all these branches, trimmings, clippings and other beautiful biomass down to Carson, where it’ll metamorphosize into glorious fresh compost that UNR will use back on campus to help its landscape grow happy and healthy.
It’s a truly Full Circle approach and we’re proud to count UNR as a major partner in the effort to transform Northern Nevada into a sustainable, earth-conscious leader of healthy landscapes and lookin’ good!
You’ve read the “book.” Now watch the movie!
As they say in the philosophy department: “Green waste not, green want not!”
